Little River Man Claims $1 MILLION Powerball® Prize

COLUMBIA, SC (November 9, 2010) – A 15-year resident of Little River has claimed the $1 MILLION Powerball® ticket sold in Little River.

The winner plans to resign from his job and take life easy for a while.

“I’m a meatloaf and mashed potatoes kind of guy,” said the winner. “I’m just looking forward to a little less stress in my life.”

After purchasing the Powerball® ticket from Vice’s Smoke Shop in Little River, the winner admits he didn’t see this coming. He checked the results at least 20 times before convincing himself he was a millionaire.

The winner, who requested his name not be released, has only shared the good news with his wife.

The millionaire making ticket for the Saturday, November 6 drawing matched all five white ball numbers drawn (7, 12, 23, 34 and 38 PB 33) but missed the red Powerball®. The winner wisely purchased PowerPlay® for an extra $1, which multiplied his $200,000 winnings to $1 MILLION.

More than 21,000 players who purchased tickets is South Carolina were winners of amounts between $3 up to the $1 MILLION Match 5 prize. The estimated jackpot for Wednesday’s Powerball® drawing is $20 million.

For selling the ticket, Vice’s Smoke Shop received $10,000. Every retailer that sells a claimed ticket of $10,000 or more earns a 1 percent retailer commission, capped at $50,000.
