COLUMBIA, SC (February 1, 2012) – To be sure she wasn’t seeing things, a Timmonsville woman got her magnifying glass to read the six digits, a 2 followed by five zeros, printed on her Money Mania lottery ticket.
Seeing $200,000 clearly caused her to slide off her bed and into the floor.
“She wasn’t calm at all,” her daughter said.
Her sons told her to put the ticket away and get a good night’s sleep. She didn’t.
“I was awake all night looking at that ticket,” the winner said.
The winner told lottery officials she had a feeling she should buy a lottery ticket and bought just the one. She’s hoping her $10 purchase will put her in a new house and car.
As of this release, five top prize of $200,000 remains in the $10 Money Mania game.
The odds of winning $200,000 are 1 in 480,000.
Kens Corner 3 in Florence received a commission of $2,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than one million college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $2.6 BILLION has been transferred to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
