COLUMBIA, SC (April 27, 2011) – Christine Jackson is in the market for a new home. She secured her down payment cashing in a lottery ticket worth $100,000.

Jackson won the prize on Friday. She was headed home from work at Tyson Foods when she stopped at Family Food Store in Lancaster for a lottery ticket. She scratched the Bass Pro Shops® card in her car.

“I forgot where I was,” she told lottery officials when it was revealed she won $100,000.

Jackson didn’t keep her win a secret. She called her son, daughter, sister, mother, extended family, and coworkers at Tyson Foods to tell them she won the Lottery.

“I’ve told everybody,” she said grinning. “I’m really grateful.”

For selling the ticket, Family Food Store received $1,000, a 1 percent retailer commission when the prize was claimed.

As of this release, one top prize of $100,000 remains in the Bass Pro Shops® game. Odds of winning the top prize: 1 in 520,000.

Approximately 97 cents of every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery is returned to the state in the form of funding for education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services.
