COLUMBIA, SC (October 21, 2010) – Malcolm Jenkins, of Cayce, worked his shift at Taco Bell with a secret and a smile. After work he claimed a $200,000 prize from a Maximum Money instant ticket.
"I didn't say anything at work, because I'm making like $7.25 an hour," Jenkins said. "And $200,000 is a lot of money to be talking about in Taco Bell."
His neighbor, who works at Arby's and joined him to claim the prize, is smiling too. Jenkins, 28, and his neighbor plan to enjoy the winnings. Both feel like catching an Atlanta Falcons game in person is manageable now.
"Maybe we'll even make the big screen at the game, and it will say 'Lottery Winners,' in big letters," Jenkins joked.
Maximum Money is a $10 game that went on sale last Tuesday. As of this release, six top prizes of $200,000 remain in the game. For complete information, visit sceducationlottery.com.
Quick Stop #3 in Columbia sold the winning ticket. Every retailer that sells a claimed ticket of $10,000 or more earns a 1 percent retailer commission, capped at $50,000. The retailer received $2,000.
