COLUMBIA, SC (March 7, 2011) – A Columbia man canceled his weekend plans to stay home. He passed the time guarding a $100,000 lottery ticket.

“This was the longest weekend of my life,” he told lottery officials when he arrived to cash in his winning Money Multiplier instant ticket. “I’m almost glad it wasn’t $1 million.”

How does he feel now?

“I’m liberated,” he said.

The winner, who did not release his name, shared he will use the winnings to take care of some financial matters that had, until today, seemed hopeless.

Money Multiplier launched last Tuesday. As of this release, $5 Money Multiplier has three top prizes of $100,000 remaining. Odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 540,000.

Bi-Lo #638 at the Village at Sandhills in Columbia sold the winning ticket and received $1,000, a 1 percent retailer commission when the ticket was claimed.
