COLUMBIA, SC (June 9, 2011) – A Rock Hill man won $200,000 on a lottery ticket this morning.

He purchased the winning ticket from Circle M Food Shop #46 at 1662 Alexander Love Hwy. in York.

The winner admitted he had to calm down before making the drive to Columbia to cash in the ticket.

“I’m so happy,” he told lottery officials when he arrived.

He plans to pay off some debt and is sure the women in his family have other plans for the money.

As of this release, one top prize of $200,000 remains in the $10 Emerald Green 7’s game. Odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 497,142.86.

The York retailer received $2,000, a 1 percent retailer commission for selling the claimed ticket.

Approximately 97 cents of every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery is returned to the state in the form of funding for education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services.
