COLUMBIA, SC (February 8, 2011) – A Greer couple, about to celebrate their wedding anniversary, won $200,000 on a lottery ticket. The winner had one question for his wife of 20 plus years.

“What kind of car do you want?” he asked.

His wife didn’t answer.

The winner, employed with GE in Greenville, told lottery officials his wife didn’t believe he won, so he handed her the Cash Blowout ticket and waited for her reaction. Unsure how to play, she studied the ticket for quite a while, but when she caught on, her eyes grew as big as saucers.

“This experience is life changing for us,” he shared. “I’m so happy. I haven’t stopped shaking since I scratched the ticket.”

The winner did not want to release his name but told lottery officials his wife is ready to start test driving anniversary gifts.

“I feel like I’m already on easy street,” he said.

Every retailer that sells a claimed ticket of $10,000 or more earns a 1 percent retailer commission, capped at $50,000. Li’l Cricket #856 in Greer received $2,000.

The Greer man claimed the first top prize on the $10 Cash Blowout instant ticket. As of this release, five top prizes of $200,000 remain in the game. Odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 440,000.
