Lucky Ticket Earns Summerville Man a $250,000 Cash Blowout!

COLUMBIA, SC (June 10, 2009) – Summerville resident, Gerald Vance, got the surprise of his life when he scratched a Cash Blowout ticket and won $250,000!
“I’m a happy man,” he said. The $250,000 is one of five top prizes in the $10 Cash Blowout instant ticket game which launched yesterday.
Vance purchased his lucky ticket at Hutch’s Convenience Store located at 1525 5th North Street in Summerville.
The retailer who sells a claimed ticket worth more than $10,000 receives a one percent selling bonus. Hutch’s Convenience Store received a $2,500 selling bonus.
Since the Lottery’s inception in 2002, the General Assembly has appropriated more than $2 billion for educational purposes through fiscal year 2009. In the fiscal year ending June 30, 2008, more than 97 cents of every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery was returned to the state in the form of contributions to education, prizes, retailer commissions and payment to contractors for goods and services.
