COLUMBIA, SC (November 2, 2023) – An Upstate woman didn’t think she won anything on her lottery ticket. She handed it to her husband, and he gave it back to her with instructions to keep scratching.
“I finished scratching it,” she said. “Then, I cried.”
The ticket was a $300,000 winner.
The couple says they sat stunned in their car outside the QuikTrip on Harrison Bridge Rd. in Simpsonville. The husband had gone in the store earlier and picked out the $10 ticket for his wife to scratch.
“It’s still not real to me,” the wife said.
The Simpsonville player leaves three top prizes of $300,000 in the Max Money game at odds of 1 in 936,000.
The QuikTrip #1138 in Simpsonville received a commission of $3,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
