COLUMBIA, SC (April 3, 2023) – A Lowcountry man says he slept like a baby after scratching off a $200,000 lottery win.
It was late when he remembered the ticket he’d bought earlier in the day at the Rutledge Mart at 759 Rutledge Ave. in Charleston. “I had to rub my eyes a few times to make sure I was seeing it right,” he told South Carolina Education Lottery officials.
Then he said his prayers and went straight to sleep.
The winner wants to buy a house.
“I’m just elated,” he said.
The winner overcame odds of 1 in 720,000 to win $200,000 in the Break the Bank game that has three more top prizes available.
Rutledge Mart (Veerraja LLC) in Charleston received a commission of $2,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
