COLUMBIA, SC (August 3, 2021) – Some things are worth the wait. A Boiling Springs lottery player won big on Saturday and had to wait until Monday to cash in a $300,000 payday.
“I was anxious,” the winner told lottery officials. “I tried not to think about it.”
But the six-figure winning ticket in his wallet was hard to forget. He won the cash on a $10 scratch-off that he picked out at the Kangaroo Express #3411 on Boiling Springs Rd. in Boiling Springs. He says he scratched the ticket at the store, saw what he won and left in a hurry.
“It’s a brand new start of me,” he said.
The Boiling Springs player overcame odds of 1 in 900,000 to leave four top prizes of $300,000 remaining in the $10 Xtreme Purple Multiplier game.
Kangaroo Express #3411 in Boiling Springs received a commission of $3,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
