COLUMBIA, SC (February 25, 2021) – Luck must be in the water in the Lakelands. In the last 30 days, three Greenwood convenience stores have sold winning lottery tickets each worth $300,000.
Traveling the lucky route will take you on a 10 mile loop around southeast Greenwood.
The latest win happened at the Express Mart at 307 Montague Ave. The retailer sold a top-prize winning $300,000 Extra Play scratch-off to a customer, who couldn’t be happier.
“It was amazing,” she said.
The winner, who does not wish to be identified, told South Carolina Education Lottery officials that she didn’t say a word when she beat the 1 in 1,000,000 odds to win $300,000.
“I ran out of the store,” she confessed.
Greenwood’s other two $300,000 winners say they quietly walked out of the store after scratching off their winning tickets.
One of the winners bought a $300,000 Riches ticket earlier this month at Royal #8 at 2701 Country Farm Rd. and is buying a house. In late January, the Quick Pantry #16 at 232 Calhoun Ave. sold a winning MONEY scratch-off to a local man.
For selling the claimed tickets, the Greenwood convenience stores will receive a $3,000 commission from the Lottery.
