COLUMBIA, SC (September 24, 2020) – A Midlands woman was sitting on her porch when she scratched a lottery ticket and won $250,000.
“I started screaming” she told South Carolina Education Lottery officials. “I’ve never won anything.”
That all changed after she bought a Wild Cash instant ticket at the Pitt Stop #4 on Edmond Hwy. in Pelion. She says she chose the $10 ticket because it was pretty and took the ticket home to scratch. She jumped up from her seat on the porch after the third number she scratched off won her a good looking quarter-of-a-million dollars.
“I’ve never experienced anything like that before,” she said. “It was a once in a lifetime moment.”
And the winner knows what she wants to do with the prize money.
“Home improvements,” she said.
The Midlands winner overcame odds of 1 in 780,000 to win $250,000 in the ($10) Wild Cash game. Four top prizes remain in the game.
Pitt Stop #4 in Pelion received a commission of $2,500 for selling the claimed ticket.
