COLUMBIA, SC (May 10, 2017) – The ocean is calling, and a Gaston woman is going.

She’s looking to pack her bags and head off to the islands after winning a $200,000 Palmetto Cash 5 prize last week.

“I’m so excited,” she said.

The winner, who did not wish to be identified, says she was at home watching the local news when it was mentioned the BI-LO on Devine St. in Columbia where she shops sold a winning lottery ticket.

“So I got up and went and got my ticket,” she said.

The next words out of her mouth were, “Yes!”

Her Palmetto Cash 5 ticket for the Wednesday, May 3 drawing matched all five numbers drawn (2, 14, 27, 33, and 36).

She says she rarely plays the Lottery, and can’t explain why she did that day, but she’s glad she did.

“I went to work smiling,” she said the day after the win, admittedly already feeling the effects of island time.

She also Powered-Up to increase her prize with the 2X multiplier.

The odds of winning $200,000 playing Palmetto Cash 5 are 1 in 1,003,884.

For selling the claimed ticket, Bi-Lo #5282 in Columbia received a commission of $2,000.
