COLUMBIA, SC (April 14, 2016) – 2016 has been a lucky year for lottery players in Gaffney.
The town’s top two lottery retailers, JPS Corner Stop on N. Logan St. and A & D Food Mart on W. Floyd Baker Blvd., have been trading top prize wins.
Just last week a local man scratched off a $100,000 win at A & D Food Mart. Store Owner David Patel sold the winning The Money Game scratch-off to one of his regular customers. Patel says the happy winner plans to buy a home.
This win comes on the heels of a $9,000 top prize scratch-off win on a $1 3 Times Lucky ticket late last month.
“Every day I’m telling customers about the winning tickets,” said Patel, who is the number two lottery retailer in Cherokee County.
JPS Corner Stop holds the top spot. This location sold a $250,000 winning ticket in February.
One top prize of $100,000 remains in the $5 The Money Game at odds of 1 in 480,000. Eight top prizes of $9,000 remain in the ($1) 3 Times Lucky game at odds of 1 in 432,000.
For selling the claimed tickets, A & D Food Mart in Gaffney received a commission of $1,900.
