COLUMBIA, SC (December 9, 2015) – In a week’s time, two lottery players in Gray Court have won big playing the South Carolina Education Lottery.

And one retailer is responsible.

The Gray Court Party Shop on Hwy. 14 in Gray Court sold its customers winning scratch-offs worth $150,000 and another for $1 million.

“I hope there is a third one coming behind it,” said store owner Ringo Patel in an interview with a local television station.

Now that both winners have been paid, Patel’s has received a $11,500 commission for selling the tickets.

“It’s going to be a good Christmas for us,” he laughed.

And while the winners declined to release their names, the $1 million winner, a local man, shared a few details on what it’s like to become an instant millionaire.

“I’m still trying to grasp it,” he told lottery officials in Columbia earlier this week.

He says he got off work and stopped at the store to buy a Hot Millions/Cool Millions ticket for $10. He scratched the ticket sitting in his car in the parking lot and immediately called his mom when he won the last top prize available in the game. The odds of him winning were 1 in 1.6 million.

“I was so nervous, I could hardly talk,” he said. “I’m still shaking.”

He says the win has erased the stress in his life. He’s paid off all his bills and his house.

The $150,000 winner is a Laurens man, who won playing the $5 Giant Jumbo Bucks ticket. Four top prize of $150,000 remain in the Giant Jumbo Bucks game at odds of 1 in 600,000.
