COLUMBIA, SC (August 21, 2014) – A Great Falls man is surprising his wife with a quarter-of-a-million dollars.
The winner, who did not want to share his name, won the $250,000 prize on a lottery ticket he bought today at the Crossroad II Exxon on Chester Ave. in Great Falls.
He scratched the The Big $10 Ticket sitting in his car outside the store. When he saw he won, he drove straight to Columbia to turn the ticket in for a check.
“I think every day is a lucky day,” he told lottery officials leaving for the bank and then home to break the good news to his wife.
“She’ll want to go shopping,” he said.
The Great Falls resident won the last top prize of $250,000 in The Big $10 Ticket game. Odds of winning $250,000 were 1 in 600,000.
For selling the claimed ticket, Crossroad II Exxon in Great Falls received a commission of $2,500.
