COLUMBIA, SC (October 6, 2011) – A Williamsburg County man sat out in his truck in the backyard a while. He couldn’t move after scratching a lottery ticket worth $100,000.

“I’ve been waiting for something like this,” the winner told lottery officials when he arrived with his Wheel of Fortune® instant ticket.

He is putting the winnings towards his mortgage.

As of this release, two top prizes of $100,000 remain in the $5 Wheel of Fortune® game.

The odds of winning $100,000 are 1 in 600,000.

Lane General Store in Lane received a commission of $1,000 for selling the claimed ticket.

Non-winning Wheel of Fortune® tickets can be entered in a second-chance promotion for a chance to win a trip to Hollywood where you may be selected to play a non-broadcast, lottery players-only game of Wheel of Fortune® with the chance to win up to $1 million.

Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than 932,000 college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $2.5 BILLION has been transferred to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
