Columbia, SC:  The following report represents the financial activity for the South Carolina Education Lottery's (SCEL) sixth week of operations ending February 17, 2002.  This information is based on data provided by Scientific Games International.  Estimated ticket sales to date are over $108 million.


The number of individuals claiming prizes:

January 7 to February 3, 2002: Total:  12,274,985

February 4 to February 10, 2002: 3,051,981

February 11 to February 17, 2002: 2,786,417

Total: 18,113,383


The dollar value of prizes paid:

January 7 to February 3, 2002: - Total:  $43,442,981

February 4 to February 10, 2002: $10,914,095

February 11 to February 17, 2002: $9,839,333

Total: $64,196,409
