COLUMBIA, SC (October 6, 2021) – A Midlands lottery player scratched off 11 words on a crossword ticket to win $75,000. Afterward he had a hard time putting into words what it was like to win.
“I can’t describe it,” he said. “I just can’t.”
The winner, who does not wish to be identified, told South Carolina Education Lottery officials that he purchased the winning Crossword Multiplier ticket from the Yogi Foodmart at 139 S. Hampton St. in Kershaw.
He described his plans for the cash perfectly.
“I’m going to sit back and relax,” he told lottery officials.
Yogi Foodmart in Kershaw received a commission of $750 for selling the claimed ticket.
The Kershaw player won $75,000 in the ($3) Crossword Multiplier game at odds of 1 in 600,000. Four more top prizes remain in the game.
