COLUMBIA, SC (August 6, 2021) – A Sumter man, who likes puzzles, played the Lottery’s $3 crossword-style game and won $100,000.
“I couldn’t believe it,” he said. “I was hoping I’d win $500.”
The winner, who does not wish to be identified says he double checked the ticket he purchased from the Quick Corner at 660 W. Liberty St. in Sumter, and then he had his wife take a look at the ticket to be sure.
“I play just for fun, and I get more fun out of making my contribution to education,” the winner told lottery officials.
Five top prizes of $100,000 remain in the Lady Jumbo Bucks Crossword game at odds of 1 in 600,000.
For selling the claimed ticket, Quick Corner in Sumter earned a commission of $1,000.
