COLUMBIA, SC (July 27, 2021) – A Grand Strand lottery player was bored when he bought a ticket, but that feeling didn’t last long. He won $375,000.
“I was completely shocked,” he said of winning.
He purchased a Mighty Jumbo Bucks ticket for $10 at OMKS LLC on Socastee Blvd. in Myrtle Beach and scratched it to uncover the words “JUMBO” and “$75,000.” The directions said to “get a “JUMBO” symbol and win 5 TIMES the PRIZE show.” So he got out his calculator and his prize added up to $375,000.
That night, feelings of surprise gave way to insomnia. “I kept getting up and looking in the dresser drawer to make sure the ticket was still there,” he confessed.
The next morning he drove to the lottery office in Columbia to cash in the winning ticket. “I was shaking in line at the Claims Center waiting my turn,” he said.
As for how he’s feeling now, “I’m just trying to enjoy the moment,” he said.
The Myrtle Beach player overcame odds of 1 in 960,000 to leave four top prizes of $375,000 remaining in the $10 Mighty Jumbo Bucks game.
OMKS LLC in Myrtle Beach received a commission of $3,750 for selling the claimed ticket.
