COLUMBIA, SC (June 11, 2021) – A Lowcounty man was watching the televised lottery drawing and as each Palmetto Cash 5 winning number was called out he felt better and better. His ticket matched them all to win $200,000.

“I thought I had died and gone to heaven,” he said.

He played his own numbers at Lane’s Shell Mart at 4 Lane St. in Yemassee for the Monday, June 1 drawing (3, 9, 18, 28 and 34). Because he spent the extra $1 for Power-up, his $100,000 prize was multiplied to $200,000 when a “2” was drawn.

He says he will continue playing those lucky numbers. As for his winnings, he’s going to take care of a few projects around the house.

For selling the claimed ticket, Lane’s Shell Mart in Yemassee received a commission of $2,000.

The odds of winning $200,000 playing Palmetto Cash 5 are 1 in 878,399.
