COLUMBIA, SC (October 5, 2016) – If you don’t like going to the dentist, a North Charleston man’s experience might change your mind.

After his dental appointment, he bought a lottery ticket and won $125,000.

The winner told lottery officials he thought scratching the ticket would take his mind off his throbbing tooth.

And he was right.

“The Novocain was starting to wear off,” he said. “But I scratched that ticket and felt better.”

Speedway #02861 in Ladson sold the winning ticket. Now that the prize is paid, the store receives a $1,250 commission.

Three top prizes of $125,000 remain in the $5 Black and Gold game, at odds of 1 in 595,200.
