COLUMBIA, SC (February 29, 2024) – On his way home from the bank, a Grand Strand man pocketed a $300,000 lottery win.
His wife asked him to go to the bank for her, and while he was out, he stopped by the Scotchman #3225 at 4101 Postal Way in Myrtle Beach and bought the six-figure winning lottery ticket.
“I thought I read the ticket wrong,” he told South Carolina Education Lottery officials. “I must have looked at it for 10 minutes.”
He says he didn’t believe it was real until he cashed it in in Columbia and had the check in his hand. He is depositing the check for retirement.
“It came at the perfect time,” he said.
The win leaves two top prizes of $300,000 in X The Money game at odds of 1 in 840,000.
Scotchman #3225 in Myrtle Beach received a commission of $3,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
