COLUMBIA, SC (February 14, 2025) – An Upstate woman is house hunting with her lottery winnings as a down payment.
“It was a big surprise,” she told South Carolina Education Lottery officials when she won $200,000 on a scratch-off.
She says it was a spur of the moment decision to play the Lottery when she bought just the one $5 ticket at the Lil Cricket on the Ninety Six Hwy. in Greenwood. She says she didn’t believe what she was seeing when she scratched off the big win. Now she’s focused on spending the top prize.
“I’m going to find a new home,” she said.
The odds of winning $200,000 in the Lucky 7 game are 1 in 720,000. This game is no longer available.
For selling the claimed ticket, Lil Cricket #3835 in Greenwood received a commission of $2,000.
