COLUMBIA, SC (October 3, 2025) – A Greer woman bought three Powerball® tickets. She gave two of them to friends and kept the one that ended up winning $200,000.
“Honestly, I don’t believe it,” the winner told lottery officials after cashing in the ticket.
She purchased the tickets at the P & P Food Mart on N. Main St. in Greer when the jackpot reached a massive $850 million the night of August 27. Days later at a grocery store, she checked her ticket.
“I was told it was more than the $500 they could pay,” she said.
So she took the ticket back to the store where she bought it and asked the clerk at the P & P Food Mart how much the ticket was worth. That’s when she found she won $200,000.
Her ticket with PowerPlay® matched all but one of the Powerball numbers drawn.
“I don’t know that it has sunk in yet,” she told lottery officials.
As for her plans, she is saving the prize money.
P & P Food Mart in Greer was rewarded with a $2,000 commission for selling the ticket.
The odds of matching four white ball numbers and the red Powerball® number playing Powerball® are 1 in 913,129.
