COLUMBIA, SC (May 27, 2026) – Clemson has officially clinched the 2025-26 Palmetto Series title.
The Tigers won this year’s head-to-head athletic points competition against South Carolina by a final score of 7-5. The Tigers bested the Gamecocks in football, men’s basketball, baseball, men’s soccer, volleyball, men’s tennis and claimed the point for the most Palmetto Fellows Scholarship recipients.
The Palmetto Series trophy was presented to Clemson University during last Saturday’s baseball game against Florida State.
“We are thrilled to bring the Palmetto Series trophy back to
Clemson and thankful for the SC Education Lottery for helping to shine a light
on the rivalry series throughout the year," said Clemson Director of
Athletics Graham Neff. “The citizens in our State know just how competitive
this is, no matter the sport or venue. We congratulate all who had a hand in
the trophy’s return to Tigertown."
The 2025-26 Palmetto Series was sponsored by the South Carolina Education Lottery.
“Congratulations to both Clemson and South Carolina on another thrilling year of competition,” said the Lottery’s Chief Executive Officer Dolly Garfield. “I look forward to these games, like a lot of South Carolinians do, because this great rivalry never disappoints. Fans of both universities have much to cheer about.”
The Palmetto Series points chase began in August and wrapped up in April. Points were given to the winner of each meeting between the two schools. And points were also awarded to the school with the most lottery scholarship recipients and for the most entries in the Lottery’s Carolina vs. Clemson promotion. The final scoring is below:
