COLUMBIA, SC (April 16, 2026) – An Upstate woman has her husband to thank for a $75,000 lottery win.
“I told him to get me three Bingo scratch-offs, and he got me four,” she told South Carolina Education Lottery officials.
The first three Bingo cards she asked for didn’t win anything, but the extra ticket her husband bought her won the couple a $75,000 top prize. It was the last top prize available in the game.
“It was amazing,” the wife said. “I had my husband look at the ticket, and he didn’t believe what he was seeing.”
The wife says it was late when she scratched all four $3 tickets that her husband bought for her at the KC Mart #8 on Hwy. 9 in Boiling Springs. She says they were in their pajamas and rushed to get dressed to go scan the ticket at the store to be sure it was a winner.
When the message said, “Claim at Lottery,” the couple knew the ticket was a keeper.
“I was in a daze,” the wife said. “And my husband was in shock.”
The couple told lottery officials they plan to save and invest the prize money.
The odds of winning $75,000 playing Bingo are 1 in 528,000. This game is no longer available.
KC Mart #8 in Boiling Springs received a commission of $750 for selling the claimed ticket.
