COLUMBIA, SC (February 5, 2026) – On his way to work, a Lowcountry man stopped at a convenience store for something to drink and a lottery ticket. He left $200,000 richer.
“It was pretty cool,” the winner told South Carolina Education Lottery officials.
He says he thought he might win his money back on the $5 ticket from the 52 Station on Old Highway 52 in Moncks Corner. He never expected a six-figure payday.
And he didn’t stop to celebrate the big win. He went on to work.
The Lottery caught up with the winner after cashing in his winning ticket. He says he is going to invest the prize money and continue playing the Lottery.
The odds of winning $200,000 in the My Money Maker game are 1 in 900,000. One more top prize remains in the game.
For selling the claimed ticket, 52 Station in Moncks Corner received a commission of $2,000.
