COLUMBIA, SC (August 19, 2015) – A Gray Court man’s family was waiting in the driveway.
He opened his car door and they rushed over to see him and the $200,000 winning lottery ticket he’d brought home.
“I called my wife from the store to tell her I won,” he said. “But she said she didn’t believe me.”
Her curiosity got the best of her as she waited for her husband to make the drive from the Li’l Cricket 3821 on N. Harper St. in Laurens where he bought and scratched the winning Double Payday ticket.
Seeing his smiling face erased any doubts she had.
The winner wants to pay off his house and help his daughter pay for college.
“I feel real good,” he said, still smiling.
Two top prizes of $200,000 remain in the $10 Double Payday game, at odds of 1 in 696,000.
For selling the claimed ticket, Li’l Cricket 3821 in Laurens received a commission of $2,000.
