COLUMBIA, SC (April 8, 2015) – An Aiken man waited until spring to cash in a $200,000 lottery prize won this winter.
And that’s not all he’s put off.
“I haven’t told my family yet,” he confessed.
But he has given generously to his church.
“I was blessed,” he said of his win on a Grand Reserve scratch-off bought back in February at the Kangaroo Express #3243 on Richland Ave. in Aiken.
He told lottery officials he was watching a basketball game, he can’t remember who was playing, but at halftime he scratched the ticket.
“I just got lucky,” he said of the victory.
The Aiken winner claimed the last top prize of $200,000 in the Grand Reserve game. Odds of winning $200,000 are 1 in 600,000.
For selling the claimed ticket, Kangaroo Express #3243 in Aiken received a commission of $2,000.
