COLUMBIA, SC (July 30, 2015) – For fun, a Sumter mother and daughter bought lottery tickets and sat out in the car scratching them. And while the daughter was questioning if anyone ever really won, her mom was busy scratching off a $200,000 win.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes,” the winner said.
The ladies celebrated taking pictures of the winning $10 Double Payday ticket with their cell phones and then headed straight to Columbia to cash in the ticket.
Today, mother and daughter are out cruising again, this time visiting car lots.
Mom is getting a new car and then sharing with her daughter.
“She’s my lucky charm,” the winner said.
Three top prizes of $200,000 remain in the $10 Double Payday game, at odds of 1 in 696,000.
For selling the claimed ticket, the Corner Pantry #141 in Sumter received a commission of $2,000.
