COLUMBIA, SC (October 30, 2014) – USC football fan Larry Kougher celebrated a win this week despite his beloved Gamecocks loss. At halftime of the neck-and-neck matchup against Auburn over the weekend, the Columbia resident ran to the store and bought a lottery ticket that won him $75,000.
“I really wanted USC to win,” he said. “But I didn’t let it dampen my spirits.”
His mother, a devoted Gamecock fan herself, says the lottery win would have been sweeter if her team had won.
“They should have won!” she said.
But there’s always next Saturday.
In the meantime, Kougher is looking for a new truck. He’s partial to garnet and black ones.
As of this release, four top prizes of $75,000 remain in the $3 Triple Tripler game. The odds of winning $75,000 are 1 in 432,000.
For selling the claimed ticket, Kangaroo Express #822 in Columbia received a $750 commission.
