COLUMBIA, SC (May 28, 2014) – You might have lived in South Carolina your whole life and never heard of places like Buffalo, Cordova, Olar, Dale or Brunson. But last week, South Carolina Education Lottery players in these small towns were lucky enough to win anywhere from $1,000 to $7,600.
Union County is where you’ll find Buffalo where the Li’l Cricket 3318 sold a scratch-off worth $1,000.
The quaint spot of Cordova in Orangeburg County with a population of 168 had a $2,600 Pick 4 winner at Youngs 3624.
The local Tiger Express Exxon 1 in Olar, part of Bamberg, had a $7,600 Pick 4 winner.
In the lower part of the state is Brunson and Dale in Hampton and Beaufort counties respectively. The Tiger Express of Brunson sold a Pick 3 ticket worth $1,000, and Albany Grocery in Dale sold a $2,600 Pick 4 winner.
This is just a sampling of the small towns that celebrated lottery wins last week.
Regardless of where you live in a big city or a small town, the overall odds of winning the Lottery are the same no matter where you play. So, while buying tickets locally may not affect your chances of winning, it does support your local merchants.
