COLUMBIA, SC (October 5, 2023) – Powerball® players have a chance at a billion dollar jackpot again this weekend. With no winner in last night’s drawing, Saturday’s jackpot has swelled to $1.4 BILLION.
It will mark the 34th drawing in this jackpot run that began in July. If won, the winner can choose a cash payout of $643 million.
In last night’s drawing, a ticket sold in South Carolina won $50,000. Check your tickets if you
played Powerball® at the Amoco (Myan I
LLC) at 1421 Gervais St. in Columbia.
The winner matched four white ball numbers and the red Powerball number (9
- 35 - 54 - 63 - 64 PB: 1).
South Carolinians interested in buying a ticket for the third largest
Powerball® jackpot ever and the fifth largest jackpot in the nation MUST
purchase their ticket by 9:59 p.m. on Saturday for the drawing at 10:59.
Tickets are $2 and available at most grocery stores and convenience stores in
our state.
Powerball® is easy to play. Opt for a
quick pick and the terminal will randomly select six numbers for you, or tell
the clerk your lucky numbers. To win the jackpot, you have to match all six
numbers drawn, but there are eight other ways to match and win. Win $1 million
for matching the first five white ball numbers drawn or win $4 for matching
only the Powerball® number. Carefully check your tickets after the drawing to
find out if you’re a winner.
The Lottery is urging players to play smart, to play in moderation and to please, play responsibly. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 293 million.
Good
luck, South Carolina!
