COLUMBIA, SC (September 22, 2023) – Strong sales nationally have raised Saturday’s Powerball® jackpot to $750 million, an increase of $25 million since Wednesday.
An Upstate man is already enjoying his $150,000 Powerball® prize. He won it in the September 6 drawing, coming up one number short for a then half-a-billion dollar jackpot (9, 14, 20, 23, 63 and PB: 1). “The jackpot would have been nice,” he told lottery officials.
He played his numbers, a combination of family birth dates and birth years, at the Breakers #18 at 6140 Augusta Rd. in Greenville. The store was rewarded with a $1,500 commission. And the winner says he’ll play again this weekend.
South Carolinians interested in taking a chance on Saturday’s $750 million jackpot with a cash option of $350 million, must purchase a $2 ticket by 9:59 p.m. for the 10: 59 p.m. drawing. Tickets are available at most grocery stores and convenience stores in the state.
Odds of winning the jackpot are about 1 in 293 million. The odds of matching four white ball numbers and the red Powerball® number playing Powerball® are 1 in 913,129.
Please, play responsibly.
