5/10/2011 9:20:28 AM

COLUMBIA, SC (May 10, 2011) – An Eastover father was looking for a little peace and quiet.

He got off work early and was sitting in his car in the driveway eating a snack and scratching a lottery ticket before going in the house.

His relaxation was snapped when his Strike It Rich! ticket revealed a $200,000 win.

“Things got pretty exciting,” said the winner.

He backed out of his driveway and headed to Columbia to collect the prize.

With the check in hand, he told lottery officials his plans hadn’t changed.

“I’m going home to take a nap,” he said.

As of this release, four top prizes of $200,000 remain in the $10 Strike It Rich! game. Odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 480,000.

Corner Pantry #111 in Hopkins received $2,000, a 1 percent retailer commission for selling the claimed ticket.

Approximately 97 cents of every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery is returned to the state in the form of funding for education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services.
