COLUMBIA, SC (February 15, 2024) – Talk about a good son, a Midlands man is paying off his parents’ house after winning $300,000 playing Palmetto Cash 5.
“I play every day,” the winner told South Carolina Education Lottery officials.
He bought the ticket, a quick pick, with Power-Up for $2 at the Circle K at 5372 Sunset Blvd. in Lexington. The next day, he was with his mom when he used a store’s ticket checker to scan it. When the message read to “Claim at Lottery,” he looked up the results on his phone. The numbers 8, 10, 14, 32 and 38 on his Palmetto Cash 5 ticket matched those drawn on February 4.
“It’s the largest single win of my life for sure,” he said. But maybe not the last. The winner says he will continue to play Palmetto Cash 5.
For selling the claimed ticket, Circle K Stores Inc #842 in Lexington received a commission of $3,000.
The odds of winning $300,000 playing Palmetto Cash 5 are 1 in 1,405,438.
