COLUMBIA, SC (January 6, 2023) – Tonight Mega Millions® draws for a nearly $1 billion prize. The estimated jackpot is $940 million with a cash payout of $483 million.
Only three other Mega Millions®
jackpots have been bigger. For this jackpot run that started in October to end,
someone will have to overcome odds of 1 in 303 million.
In Tuesday’s drawing four tickets sold in South Carolina came close, matching
all but one number drawn. Tickets worth $40,000
were sold at the Publix Super Markets Inc. at 136 Sapwood Rd in Myrtle Beach and the Pilot Travel
Center #453 at 909 Hyatt St. in Gaffney. Two $10,000
prizes were won at the Flash Market #374 at 490 Hwy. 9 E. in Longs and the MJM at 1201 W. Tuberville
Hwy. in Lake City.
Tickets for Friday’s $940 million
jackpot are available at lottery retailers statewide. Tickets cost $2, and in
South Carolina must be purchased by 10 p.m. for tonight’s 11 p.m. drawing.
