COLUMBIA, SC (December 15, 2022) – The South Carolina Education Lottery’s $200,000 Holiday Jackpot scratch-off has already created two big winners ahead of Christmas, with two more possible.
A player in Irmo was shocked when the $5 ticket she bought at the Ballentine C Mart at 1500 Dutch Fork Rd. won her $200,000. “I didn’t believe it was real until I brought it downtown to the Lottery’s Claims Center,” she said.
She’s using the winnings to take her husband on a trip next year.
“I’m spending the fool out of my prize,” said the other winner, who bought his $5 ticket in Marion, SC.
He says he took his $200,000 Holiday Jackpot scratch-off home from the Quick Shop at 100 W. Liberty St. in Marion and switched things up by scratching the ticket from the bottom to the top. “It was unbelievable,” he said when he saw $200,000 was his.
Two more $200,000 top prizes remain in the $200,000 Holiday Jackpot game at odds of 1 in 720,000.
Ballentine C Mart in Irmo and Quick Shop in Marion each received a commission of $2,000 for selling the claimed tickets.
