COLUMBIA, SC (March 16, 2023) – A Dillon County lottery player thought she won $100,000. But she got a second and then a third opinion to be sure.

She showed the ticket to her dad first. “It looks right to me,” he told her.

They both counted 11 words that matched for a big win on her $3 Lady Jumbo Bucks Crossword ticket.

Then she asked her husband to recount them, and he added up 11 words too.

“I was pretty sure I had a winner,” she told South Carolina Education Lottery officials when she cashed in the winning ticket.

The winner beat the 1 in 600,000 odds to leave three more top prizes of $100,000 remaining in the game.

For selling the claimed ticket, Quick Stop #102 in Latta received a commission of $1,000.
