COLUMBIA, SC (December 1, 2021) – The South Carolina Education Lottery is joining with other lotteries across the nation to support the 2021 Gift Responsibly Campaign. The campaign is organized by the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) and the International Center for Youth Gambling Problems and High-Risk Behaviors at McGill University.
This initiative raises awareness about the risks associated with giving lottery tickets as gifts to minors during the holiday season -- or any time of the year.
In South Carolina, you must be 18 or older to play the Lottery.
Starting today, the “Gift Responsibly: Lottery Tickets Aren’t Child’s Play” message will begin appearing in lottery communications to our retailers and players.
The South Carolina Education Lottery’s commitment to responsible play isn’t seasonal. If you, or someone you know, needs help, call the S.C. Gambling Help Line toll-free at 1-877-452-5155.
Please remember to Have Fun, Play Smart, Play Responsibly.®
