COLUMBIA, SC (October 4, 2022) – On her lunch hour, a Midlands woman cashed in a lottery ticket worth $1 MILLION.
She bought the ticket at the King Fuel on Two Notch Rd. in Columbia on her way to work, but waited until she got to her desk to scratch it.
“It was the biggest surprise of my life,” she said of the win.
The winner took her lunch break early to go cash in the million-dollar ticket at the Lottery’s Claims Center on Assembly St.
“I put the ticket in my purse, got in my car and my hands were shaking holding onto the steering wheel,” she said.
After depositing the prize money in the bank, she simply went back to work.
“Nobody at my job knows,” she said, but her constant smiling might give it away.
The Midlands player overcame odds of 1 in 1,440,000 to win $1 million in the THE MILLION game. Two more top prizes remain in the game.
