Rock Hill Player has Sushi for Dinner and $375,000 for Dessert

COLUMBIA, SC (June 18, 2021) – A Rock Hill grocery shopper grabbed some sushi for dinner and a lottery ticket for dessert.

She won a sweet $375,000.

“I’m humbled I was the one who got that ticket,” said the winner, who was shopping at the Publix on Heckle Blvd. in Rock Hill.

She bought the $10 Mighty Jumbo Bucks scratch-off before leaving the store. At home that evening, she saw the ticket laying on the counter and scratched the numbers off the card first.

“I didn’t scratch off the prize yet, because I like to dream about what if this is the big one,” she told South Carolina Education Lottery officials. “When I saw the zeroes I thought this is cool, and then it took my breath away.”

She says winning $375,000 seems surreal right now, but that will change once she starts on some home improvement projects.

“It’s life changing,” she said.

The winner overcame odds of 1 in 960,000 to leave six top prizes of $375,000 remaining in the $10 Mighty Jumbo Bucks game.

Publix Super Markets Inc. #1482 in Rock Hill received a commission of $3,750 for selling the claimed ticket.
