COLUMBIA, SC (February 28, 2022) – An Upstate woman wasn’t planning to go to Columbia, but her plans changed when she played the Lottery and won $300,000.
She says she put on her shoes, grabbed the ticket and headed straight to the Lottery’s claims center to collect her winnings.
“It was so exciting,” she said.
The winner, who does not wish to be identified, told lottery officials that she brought the ticket home from the Brightmart Exxon on S. Main St. in Anderson. When she scratched off the $300,000 win, she starting celebrating.
“I was jumping up and down,” she said.
The Anderson player overcame odds of 1 in 900,000 to win the last top prize of $300,000 remaining in the ($10) $300,000 Super Cash game.
Brightmart Exxon in Anderson received a commission of $3,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
