COLUMBIA, SC (March 24, 2022) – A Midlands lottery player couldn’t hide his excitement over winning $200,000.

His hands were shaking so bad that the clerk at the Hillview Truck Stop on Ben Franklin Rd. in Leesville noticed and asked if he was o.k. He showed her the ticket and then left the store to call his wife.

“Honey, how much do you love me?” he asked his wife when she answered the phone.

Confused, he texted her a photo of his $200,000 winning ticket. The couple is now planning some home improvements.

“It was my time,” the winner told South Carolina Education Lottery officials.

His win leaves two top prizes remaining in the Win Big game at odds of 1 in 660,000.

For selling the claimed ticket, Hillview Truck Stop in Leesville received a commission of $2,000.
