COLUMBIA, SC (November 16, 2021) – An Upstate woman’s luck changed when she played the Lottery at the Circle K on Highway 9 in Boiling Springs and won $250,000.
“I’d never won anything before,” she said.
She took the lottery ticket home, and when she scratched off a winning number figured she won $5, not a quarter-of-a-million dollars.
“Am I dreaming?” she asked, showing the ticket to her family.
They assured her she really won $250,000.
The South Carolina Education Lottery caught up with the winner, who does not wish to be identified, days later after collecting her prize money. She’s already paid off her house.
“I’m debt free,” she said. “It is unbelievable.”
The winner overcame odds of 1 in 960,000 to win $250,000 in the Giant Jumbo Bucks game. Three more top prizes remain in the game.
Circle K Stores Inc #2704594 in Boiling Springs received a commission of $2,500 for selling the claimed ticket.
