“I couldn’t stop looking at it,” the Columbia winner confessed to South Carolina Education Lottery officials, who caught up with him after cashing in the prize.
He says he even woke up in the middle of the night to have another look at his ticket.
“It was exciting,” he said of the win. “I love to play.”
He plans to share his prize with his church and family.
The Columbia player overcame odds of 1 in 675,000 to win $250,000 in the $10 CA$HTASTIC game. Five top prizes remain in the game.
Southeast BP in Columbia received a commission of $2,500 for selling the claimed ticket.
