COLUMBIA, SC (June 25, 2020) – The ocean is calling the Lottery’s latest millionaire.
Last week it was the South Carolina Education Lottery calling the Walterboro resident with exciting news. A non-winning lottery ticket the player entered into a drawing was picked to win $1 MILLION.
“I thought it was a joke or a scam,” the winner said.
Curious, the player followed up on the conversation and visited the Lottery’s Claims Center in Columbia where a check was waiting.
“It wasn’t real until I got the check,” the millionaire admitted.
The winner, who did not wish to be identified, had their non-winning ticket selected from the more than 680,000 entries received to win the $1 million prize in the Millionaire Series Second-Chance Drawing.
“A really nice vacation, somewhere tropical, warm, with sand is what I want,” the winner said.
