COLUMBIA, SC (September 23, 2022) – On a snack run, an Upstate man grabbed a lottery ticket and scored a $200,000 win.
He stopped in the TD Mart on Easley Bridge Rd. in Greenville for a bag of chips and a drink, when a $5 lottery ticket caught his eye. He told South Carolina Education Lottery officials that he took the ticket to his grandmother’s house and scratched it after church.
“It’s crazy,” he said of the big win. “I couldn’t stop looking at the ticket.”
The winner declined to share his name or plans for the prize, but is excited about the possibilities.
His win leaves one top prize remaining in the Palmetto Cash 5 game at odds of 1 in 720,000.
TD Mart in Greenville received a commission of $2,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
