COLUMBIA, SC (March 25, 2022) – An Upstate woman listened to her Mom and played the Lottery to win $30,000.

The daughter told lottery officials that she felt lucky, but couldn’t decide if she wanted to get a lottery ticket or not.

“My Mom said to go ahead and try your luck,” the daughter said.

She picked out a $2 ticket at the Quickway #8 on Reynolds Ave. in Greenwood and took the ticket back to her Mom’s house. She scratched it on the porch and both ladies started screaming.

The Lottery caught up with the daughter, who does not wish to be identified, a few days after cashing in her winning ticket. She was busy.

“I’m looking for a new house,” she said.

The Greenwood player beat the 1 in 432,000 odds to win $30,000 in the $2 Cash Drop game. One more top prize remains.

Quickway #8 in Greenwood received a commission of $300 for selling the claimed ticket.
