COLUMBIA, SC (July 6, 2021) – A Goose Creek lottery player, who mistakenly thought he’d won the Lottery once before and didn’t, found redemption.
On his way to work he scratched a ticket, paused for several seconds, looked at it again, and then had someone else look at his ticket to be sure he really won this time. His prize was $150,000.
“It’s weird,” he said describing how doubt was replaced with delight.
The winner, who does not wish to be identified, paid $2 for a ticket at the Parkers #74 on Red Bank Rd. in Goose Creek.
“It wasn’t really real until the check was in my hand,” he told South Carolina Education Lottery officials.
Six top prizes of $150,000 remain in the Giant Jumbo Bucks game at odds of 1 in 600,000.
Parkers #74 in Goose Creek received a commission of $1,500 for selling the claimed ticket.
