COLUMBIA, SC (January 6, 2022) – Powerball® tickets sold in California and Wisconsin won last night’s $632.6 million jackpot. In South Carolina, a ticket sold in the Midlands won $100,000.
The winning ticket was sold at the Quick & Easy at 10077 Marlboro Ave. in Barnwell. The ticket matched four white ball numbers and the red Powerball® number in the drawing on Wednesday, January 5 (6 - 14 - 25 - 33 - 46 and PB: 17) at odds of 1 in 913,129. Because the player spent an extra $1 for PowerPlay®, the $50,000 prize was multiplied to $100,000 when a “2” was drawn.
Wednesday’s Powerball® drawing produced over 54,000 prize winners in South Carolina. Players have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes. For complete information on claiming prizes, visit sceducationlottery.com.
The estimated jackpot for Saturday night’s drawing is $20 million.
Net proceeds from every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery are returned to the state in the form of funding for education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services.
